“All flesh is like the grass; the grass withers and fades away. But the word of the Lord endures forever.”
This verse always does something inside me– In the busyness of life and pursuits that will never satisfy apart from the Lord, this verse calls me back home. It causes me to remember the Lord in my pursuits and to place Him above them (in priority) and below them (foundationally).
Combine that truth with a scenic sunrise– and what is it that these beautiful landscapes do to us? They cause us to look afar and take our eyes off our immediate and surrounding kingdoms. They break into our physical realities and carry with them at taste of spiritual reality. That’s no accident I would say :)
The word of the Lord endures forever. In the midst of all this shifting, He stands apart as unchanging, solid ground.
