Music has a uniquely powerful way to convey a message, with or without words. Sure, it’s beautiful on its own and can connect with you abstractly without you knowing why, but at its core music is always rooted to a context, to a message/feeling/sentiment/history of some kind…to our view of reality even. That’s why every single person has their own opinion about it. My songs are often at their core challenges to myself, and reminders of truths I need to hear. They are reflections of who I am, who I aspire to be, and what I long for (for the world around me).
Now, who I am and what I do would mean nothing at all if it wasn’t rooted in something eternal. Music, art, beauty, life, etc,… they all derive their goodness and meaning from the One who gave meaning to them. When I’m at my best as an artist, father, husband, etc, He’s the One I’m doing it all for and unto Him alone belongs all the glory. Read it and find out for yourself >>
